"KONNICHIWA TENT" was born in the workshop of "ART SPHERE HAIZUKA 1998".
The theme of the workshop is to search the new viewpoint and affair of the cultural heritage. But, the word of "heritage" was unexpected. In short, it was not realistic word that I couldn't understand the relation of between me and the word. So, I thought what was realistic for me and others too. And, the idea that "I look for the place where I wanted to set up a tent" and "I set up a tent there and try to live for a while" was born. And then, in practice I tried to stay at tent, I realized that "KONNICHIWA TENT" was like "BETWEEN". To begin with, the tent itself was "BETWEEN" that was not able to call the name "HOUSE". And, what stayed at "BETWEEN" was to have possible to link between something and something.
The days that I spend at that way was very very happy. Though there were no appearance in this booklet, another many people visited in my tent to say "KONNICHIWA". I was presented with a poem from a person of such people, Ms. Okuda. Let me present the poem as follows. |

Probably last year, when my friend "Abe-chan" returned from his tour of Vietnam and I looked at that he build up the web site "Vietnam Research Laboratories", I have thought it might be interesting that I try to travel tracing his very detailed travelogue, if I have a chance to visit the Vietnum.
This time, I was sure of it interesting by tracing "KOHO-CHI" of Tetsuo Ogawa.
This way given me both excitement and happy feeling; the former like discovering the treasure was gotten when I found the same object he recorded; the latter was driven because of feeling that "KOHO-CHI" was mystery place of only us.
First of all, I was thinking that I supported him, but always from behind the scenes. However, without my unnoticed and my own accord, this site become the works of our collaboration. I would like to also say "ARIGATO" (tr. "Thanks") to "KONNICHIWA TENT". |
