hello

#KONNICHIWA TENT (1)
  • Wow!  I made it!  I felt so happy, yes, I was happy.  Then I decorated my tent with 6 balloons.  Was it dream or false?  I felt as if I built the modern Haizuka house.  The habitation in Haizuka is separated by old Japanese style and modern style.  Although, my tent "here" was quite fit in the place together with the old and the new.  I was for sure.
  • I would have written down "KONNICHIWA", but look, tent and balloons were enough to say "KONNICHIWA".  It is easier to tie the balloons to tent with threads.  You can also tie them to the bicycle.  Oh, this idea brought me an image of one that Shimabukuro-kun was riding.

Was it dream or false? I found one of the tent pole had broken.
  • I heard of cicadas singing (inside the tent).
  • I got back in the tent around one o'clock in the midnight.  It got gradually darker and darker around the stone steps of the temple I was a bit scared.  I heard some kinds of insects singing.  Good-Night everyone.
  • I got up in the morning (9:30am), I found one of the tent pole had broken.  I repaired it anyway, but I didn't know how long it would be hold on.
  • I took a nap and woke up at around four o'clock, because it was very hot.
  • The balloons were all shriveled one day after.  Then I blew up new ones.  The shriveled balloons were so sad and my tent became sad, too. cloud
  • I put some fliers of my project on the shop's wall and electric light poles near by.  I went by the grocery shop "HARUDA-SHOTEN".  The guy at the shop said, "I am the KONNICHIWA TENTO".  He played with the sound of a word tent into the shop owner in Japanese.
  • Looking up the sky, there were various forms of clouds.  I was sketching them thinking of Saito-san who likes watching clouds.  It was very hard to draw those clouds.  I drew upper clouds in the sky and suddenly pointed down my eyes, crying "Oh, great!".  I saw a beautiful sunset at once.  A lot of smashed strawberries with milk, as it looked like.  I rushed back to bring the camera with me and took some pictures.  After that, I back to sketch, enjoying looking at the sky.  The colors' of the sky were fading and melting.  It was like the warm-harted Saito-san.  The right after that, the sky turned the red again for a while, then the sunset was fading out from the sky.  I could hardly see my pen at that moment.

woman hello
  • At ten o'clock in the morning, I was still dozy sitting in the tent.  A woman came by the tent.  The first time of KONNICHIWA on this day.  I talked to the woman that I came from Tokyo.  She was so surprised that I came here from the very distance.  She noticed my tent several times on her way to the field and was cared about the raining at night.

hello
man
  • The man who was going to go to the work at the field greeted to me "KONNICHIWA".  I said where I came from again to him and he was also so surprised I came from that far a way.  Then he pointed at the field over there, saying, "I am working there. So come and talk to me".
  • I walked around to find the man I talked this morning.  When I was sketching the young Chinese cabbage, the woman came from the house.  She told me that the place where I pitched my tent used be the camp location for the local children's meeting.  I showed my sketch book.  She was difficult to understand HAIZUKA EARTHWORKS PROJECTS doing.
  • I was invited to the dinner. I had Somen(cold Japanese noodle), Fry greens with red hot peppers, and Preserved garlic in Soya-Souse.  And Beer too.

  • They told me a scary story. The location of my tent used be HOFUKU temple and lived blind priest. One day, the temple was burnt down by his mistake. He was, of course, burnt out. That happened about 50 years ago. I came back to the tent late at night. I was shivering and was not able to fall in sleep because of hearing the woman sobbing or crying just by my ear side. It was so close that I thought it was the snorting of myself. The woman who invited me a dinner also said that she was heard something snorting last night. She wondered that would be her husband but it wasn't at all.
